Privacy policy

Effective 2026-10-01 · applies to Merchant Context websites, the Merchant Context Plugin for ChatGPT, Claude, and other assistants, and business-authorized scheduler connections, including Jobber

What we collect

Assistant queries. When an assistant calls our service, we receive the search it makes on your behalf: the trade, a location (ZIP or city), and any constraint words the assistant passes (for example "weekend" or "water heater"). We do not receive your chat history, your name, or your account details, and our service is designed never to reconstruct a conversation.
Website lookups. If you type a business name into the lookup box on our site, we receive that name.
Jobber connections. When an authorized business owner or administrator connects Jobber, we receive connection credentials issued by Jobber and read the approved scheduling and availability data needed to report the business's next available appointment time. We associate the connection with the business's Merchant Context record. We do not receive your Jobber password. Connection credentials are stored on our server and are never published or given to AI assistants.
Server logs. Standard technical logs (IP address, timestamp, request path) for security and rate-limiting.

What we publish

The business index contains facts about licensed businesses drawn from public records — state licence registers, corporate filings, Google Business Profiles, the Better Business Bureau, and businesses' own websites — each with its source and check date. It describes businesses, not consumers.

For a business with an authorized Jobber connection, we also share appointment availability with AI assistants and visitors using our service, labelled with its source and check time. We do not publish Jobber customers' names, addresses, contact details, job notes, or staff personal details.

Purposes

Answering the queries above, maintaining authorized scheduler connections, reporting business availability, keeping the service reliable and abuse-free, and improving coverage.

Recipients

Our hosting infrastructure processes data to serve the service (currently Railway Corp. for the plugin service and scheduler connections, and Vercel Inc. for the website). Jobber processes requests made through an authorized connection. AI assistants and visitors receive the business facts and availability described above. We do not sell personal data or provide Jobber customer or staff personal details to AI assistants or visitors.

Retention

Server logs are kept up to 30 days, then deleted. Queries are not stored beyond those logs. Public-record business facts are retained and refreshed as part of the index.

Jobber connection credentials are kept until the connection is removed from our service. Availability results may be temporarily cached to reduce repeated requests; each result carries its check time. Disconnecting Merchant Context in Jobber revokes our access. Contact support to request deletion of any remaining stored connection details.

Your controls

If you believe a fact about your business is wrong, tell us — every fact links to its source, and we correct against the authoritative record. For any privacy question or request, contact support.

You control whether your Jobber account is connected. You can revoke access in Jobber at any time, or ask support to remove the connection. Include your business name and licence number so we can identify the correct record.
