Who AI assistants recommend for a dedicated appliance circuit

We asked ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode for a dedicated appliance circuit recommendations 261 times. Here is what they needed to see on an electrician’s page before naming it for a new appliance circuit.

The short answer

Before naming an electrician for a dedicated appliance circuit, assistants looked for whether the company checks the panel's capacity first, how it sizes the circuit to the appliance, and what the written quote covers. They wanted the breaker, wire run, outlet, wall patching, permit and inspection spelled out, not a single number.

What people actually asked

We asked for a dedicated appliance circuit in three different ways. Here is each one, word for word, with how many of the 261 answers it produced between September 4 and October 14, 2026:

  • “Looking for someone to do dedicated appliance circuit installation in Palm Harbor, FL before the end of the month. Any recommendations?”95 answers, asked with five different timings: before the end of the month, in the next few weeks, in two weeks, sometime this month and next month
  • “Who should I call for dedicated appliance circuit installation in Largo, FL?”87 answers
  • “Dedicated appliance circuit installation near me — I'm in 34698. Who do you recommend?”79 answers

Together, the 261 answers covered eight towns in Pinellas County: Clearwater, Dunedin, Largo, Palm Harbor, Seminole, Tarpon Springs, Pinellas Park and St. Petersburg. Each town came up in 31 to 33 answers. By assistant: ChatGPT 111, Claude 78 and Google AI Mode 72.

Customers also call it “dedicated circuit installation”, “kitchen appliance circuit” or “range/oven circuit install”, so use those words on the page as well.

The question underneath all of them

“Does this appliance need a separate circuit and what work would that involve?” The appliance requirement and the existing installation should be established before promising a solution.

What your dedicated appliance circuit installation page has to explain

A new circuit sounds simple, but answers kept pointing to the panel. Older homes may have no open breaker slot, and some need a panel or subpanel upgrade before the circuit can be added. Assistants told customers to ask whether the electrician checks capacity before quoting. A page that explains that first step shows the price will not change after the visit.

The appliance decides the circuit. A range, dryer, freezer or double oven each needs a different breaker size, wire gauge and outlet. Assistants told customers to name the appliance and have its spec sheet handy. The page should say what details the electrician needs, and that the circuit is sized to the maker's requirements rather than a guess.

Quotes for this job differ most in what they leave out. Answers listed wall cuts and drywall repair, attic access, the permit fee and the final inspection as the items customers should ask about. A page that shows one finished job, naming the appliance and the agreed circuit work, gives the customer a clear picture of what they are buying.

What the assistants looked for before recommending anyone

We read all 261 answers to see what the assistants looked for before naming a company for a dedicated appliance circuit, what they told the customer to ask, and what they said they couldn’t find.

What the assistants told customers to ask

Most common first:

How is the circuit sized to the appliance?

Answers told customers to name the appliance and ask for a quote that states the breaker size and wire gauge. Several said the circuit should match the maker's requirements. Customers with a range, dryer or freezer wanted to know the electrician would size it for that exact unit.

52% of the answers (136 of 261) brought this up.

Ask for a written estimate, permit handling, and confirmation that the circuit will be sized to the appliance manufacturer’s requirements.

— ChatGPT, asked “Who should I call for dedicated appliance circuit installation in Pinellas Park, FL?”, September 16, 2026

Does the panel have room for a new circuit?

Assistants regularly told customers to ask whether the panel has room for another breaker. They warned that a full panel can mean a subpanel or upgrade, which changes both cost and schedule. Customers wanted that answered before they accepted a quote.

37% of the answers (96 of 261) brought this up.

Ask whether your panel has room for another circuit or needs an upgrade.

— Claude, asked “Looking for someone to do dedicated appliance circuit installation in Clearwater, FL 33755 in two weeks. Any recommendations?”, October 9, 2026

Who pulls the permit and books the inspection?

Assistants often told customers to ask who pulls the permit and whether it and the inspection are in the price. Some noted a new circuit generally needs a permit in Pinellas County. Customers wanted the electrician to handle it rather than leave it to them.

28% of the answers (72 of 261) brought this up.

Ask whether they pull the permit and schedule the inspection.

— Claude, asked “Dedicated appliance circuit installation near me — I'm in 33770. Who do you recommend?”, October 8, 2026

What does the quote include, and what is left out?

Many answers listed what a full quote should cover: the breaker, wire run, outlet or hardwire connection, and wall or ceiling patching. Assistants warned that drywall repair is often left out. Customers compared quotes by these items, not by the total alone.

23% of the answers (60 of 261) brought this up.

Ask for a written quote that includes breaker, wire run, outlet/receptacle type, permit handling, and patching exclusions.

— ChatGPT, asked “Looking for someone to do dedicated appliance circuit installation in 34698 in the next few weeks. Any recommendations?”, September 4, 2026

Does this electrician list dedicated circuits at all?

Assistants often found electricians whose listings did not name dedicated circuits or name any services at all. Some only showed this work under commercial jobs. Those companies came with a note to call and ask before booking.

13% of the answers (34 of 261) brought this up.

Its listing doesn't name specific services, so ask whether it does dedicated circuits.

— Claude, asked “Dedicated appliance circuit installation near me — I'm in Clearwater, FL 33755. Who do you recommend?”, October 8, 2026

What the assistants couldn’t find

In 33 of the 261 answers, the assistant said it couldn’t find or confirm something it needed about a company. By assistant: Claude in 32 of its 78, ChatGPT in 1 of its 111 and Google AI Mode in 0 of its 72. As we asked it, Claude usually says what it couldn’t confirm; ChatGPT and Google AI Mode seldom do, so these counts mostly show what Claude couldn’t find. Most often:

  • A phone number or other way to reach the company: 24 answers
  • Reviews it could check: 7 answers
  • When the company could do the work: 5 answers
  • A license or insurance it could check: 4 answers
  • A price or how the job is priced: 3 answers

Assistants most often could not find or confirm a phone number, and several could not tell whether a company does this work. A page that names the service, shows what a quote covers and gives a working number answers what they kept sending customers to ask.

I didn't find phone numbers in the search results, and I don't want to guess at them.

Where the assistants sent people

Each answer linked to the pages the assistant relied on. Of the 189 ChatGPT and Claude answers about a dedicated appliance circuit, this is how many linked at least once to each kind of site:

  • A contractor’s own website: 96% (181 answers)
  • A directory or review site such as Yelp, Angi or the BBB: 47% (88 answers)
  • An official license lookup: 11% (21 answers)
  • A manufacturer or home-improvement guide: 5% (9 answers)
  • A Google search or Maps page: under 1% (1 answer)

A contractor’s own website was the page linked most often, so your site is usually what the customer is sent to read. ChatGPT linked a contractor’s own site in 100% of its answers, Claude in 90%.

Google AI Mode works differently. In 86% of its 72 answers, the links opened Google’s own listing for a business rather than a website. There, your Google Business Profile is the page the customer sees, so it needs the same facts as your site.

Your dedicated appliance circuit installation page checklist

Work through this list on your dedicated appliance circuit installation page. Each item answers something the assistants looked for above.

  1. Use “dedicated appliance circuit installation”, “dedicated circuit installation” or “kitchen appliance circuit” in the page title, the main heading and the first paragraph.
  2. Explain how you size each circuit to the appliance's specs and which details you need from the customer.
  3. Say that you check panel capacity before quoting, and explain what happens if the panel is full.
  4. State that you pull the permit and arrange the inspection, and whether the fee is part of the quote.
  5. List each part of the job your quote covers, and say plainly whether wall repair is included.
  6. Name dedicated appliance circuits on the page, and list the appliances you most often wire for.
  7. Put a current phone number and a way to request a circuit quote on the service page.
  8. Link to recent reviews and point to ones from customers who had a new circuit added.
  9. Say how soon you can usually add a dedicated circuit and how the permit affects the date.

Going further: let assistants see real openings

For planned work like a dedicated appliance circuit, a useful opening says whether it is for an assessment or the job itself, and whether the customer’s address is covered.

Merchant Context builds custom integrations with scheduling software so customers and AI assistants can read your current availability. Where your system records the job type, service area, duration and crew capacity, the integration can show those details with each opening, so an assistant can match it to the request instead of guessing.

We scope each connection to the software and data you actually have. A displayed opening is not a confirmed booking: the customer still confirms through your normal booking process, and the information is only useful while it is fresh.

Questions owners ask

Does my appliance need a dedicated circuit?

Assistants told customers to name the appliance and share its spec sheet, since the maker's requirements decide the circuit. Ranges, dryers and some freezers came up often. A page should say what details the electrician needs to answer this, rather than promise one answer for every home.

What if my electrical panel is full?

Answers warned that a panel with no open slot may need a breaker swap, a subpanel or an upgrade, which adds cost. Assistants told customers to ask whether the electrician checks capacity before quoting. A page should explain what happens when the panel is full.

What should a dedicated circuit quote include?

Answers most often listed the breaker, wire run, outlet or hardwire connection, wall patching, permit and inspection. Assistants told customers to ask about anything left out, especially drywall repair. A page that lists what is included helps customers compare quotes.

Which AI assistants did you test?

ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode. Between September 4 and October 14, 2026, they answered 261 questions about a dedicated appliance circuit: ChatGPT 111, Claude 78, Google AI Mode 72.

Will these changes guarantee a recommendation?

No. Nobody can promise that. These changes supply what the assistants were looking for in our research. Whether they move recommendations for your business is something to measure after they go live.

How we got these numbers

The questions, counts and quotes on this page come from the 261 answers ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode gave between September 4 and October 14, 2026. We asked for a dedicated appliance circuit in eight towns in Pinellas County, Florida. We collected them with software rather than the consumer apps, which can answer differently. We counted what each answer mentioned, what it said it couldn’t find and where it linked. Quotes never name a business.

The study figures come from an earlier set of assistant conversations in July and August 2026 across eight trades, coded for the reason each business was included or left out. Counts overlap and are never added together.
