The questions covered 41 specific jobs. The most asked here, each with its own post:

The question underneath all of them

“Which Palm Harbor plumber can come out soon, and is the estimate free?” Answers here pointed to plumbers based in Palm Harbor and noted who offered free estimates and emergency service, then told customers to get the price in writing.

What your Palm Harbor plumbing page has to explain

Palm Harbor plumbing answers often opened with where a plumber was based, calling it Palm Harbor-based or located right in 34683. Plumbers from Clearwater, Dunedin and Tarpon Springs were named too. Few answers said no one served the town. A Palm Harbor plumbing page should name the town, its ZIP codes and the place the trucks start from.

Free estimates and no trip charge came up in these answers far more often than in plumbing answers elsewhere. So did emergency and same-day service. Assistants repeated these offers when a listing stated them, but often could not confirm a truck was free that day. If you offer free estimates or round-the-clock calls, the page should say exactly what each covers.

The jobs asked here ran from toilet and faucet repair to septic pumping, slab leaks and sewer lines. For bigger jobs, assistants told customers to ask for a camera inspection first, a written quote, and who pulls the permit. For small ones, they asked what the price includes, such as haul-away of the old fixture. The page should explain both kinds.

What the assistants couldn’t find

In 247 of the 1,632 answers, the assistant said it couldn’t find or confirm something it needed about a company. By assistant: Claude in 225 of its 557, ChatGPT in 21 of its 678 and Google AI Mode in 1 of its 397. As we asked it, Claude usually says what it couldn’t confirm; ChatGPT and Google AI Mode seldom do, so these counts mostly show what Claude couldn’t find. Most often:

  • A phone number or other way to reach the company: 148 answers
  • Reviews it could check: 57 answers
  • When the company could do the work: 50 answers
  • A price or how the job is priced: 41 answers
  • A license or insurance it could check: 23 answers
  • Whether the company serves the customer’s town or ZIP code: 12 answers

Compared with the larger towns: Claude said it couldn’t confirm something in 225 of its 557 answers about Palm Harbor (40%), and couldn’t confirm that any company served Palm Harbor in 11 (2%). In the eight largest towns we studied, those figures were 40% and 4% for plumbing.

Palm Harbor plumbing answers most often lacked a phone number, followed by reviews and who could come out soon. A page with one working number, links to recent reviews and a typical arrival time answers all three.

I didn't find a phone number in the results, so use their site.

— Claude, asked “Who should I call for garbage disposal installation in Palm Harbor, FL?”, September 19, 2026

Where the assistants sent people

Each answer linked to the pages the assistant relied on. Of the 1,235 ChatGPT and Claude answers about plumbing work in Palm Harbor, FL, this is how many linked at least once to each kind of site:

  • A manufacturer or home-improvement guide: 9% (116 answers)

A contractor’s own website was the page linked most often, so your site is usually what the customer is sent to read.

Google AI Mode works differently. In 74% of its 397 answers, the links opened Google’s own listing for a business rather than a website. There, your Google Business Profile is the page the customer sees, so it needs the same facts as your site.

Going further: let assistants see real openings

For an urgent job, “open now” doesn’t answer the customer’s real question: can the right technician get to this address within the next few hours?

Merchant Context builds custom integrations with scheduling software so customers and AI assistants can read your current availability. Where your system records the job type, service area, duration and crew capacity, the integration can show those details with each opening, so an assistant can match it to the request instead of guessing.

We scope each connection to the software and data you actually have. A displayed opening is not a confirmed booking: the customer still confirms through your normal booking process, and the information is only useful while it is fresh.

How we got these numbers

The questions, counts and quotes on this page come from the 1,632 answers ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode gave between September 2 and October 14, 2026. Every question named Palm Harbor or one of its ZIP codes. We collected them with software rather than the consumer apps, which can answer differently. We counted what each answer mentioned, what it said it couldn’t find and where it linked. Quotes never name a business.

The study figures come from an earlier set of assistant conversations in July and August 2026 across eight trades, coded for the reason each business was included or left out. Counts overlap and are never added together.
