Who AI assistants recommend for home services in Wesley Chapel, FL

We asked ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode for home services in Wesley Chapel, FL recommendations 30 times. Here is what they looked for on a contractor’s Wesley Chapel page, from the HVAC questions asked here.

The short answer

All the Wesley Chapel questions in this research were about HVAC, and the sample is small. They also told customers to compare written quotes and check the license.

What people actually asked

We asked 18 different questions here between October 9 and October 14, 2026. These are the six asked most, word for word, with how many of the 30 answers each produced:

  • “Air purifier installation near me — I'm in Wesley Chapel, FL. Who do you recommend?”2 answers
  • “I need commercial HVAC repair first thing tomorrow — I'm in Wesley Chapel, FL. Who can actually come out?”2 answers
  • “I'm looking to get duct installation done in Wesley Chapel, FL before the end of the month. Who should I get quotes from?”2 answers
  • “Looking for someone to do air purifier installation in Wesley Chapel, FL before the end of the month. Any recommendations?”2 answers
  • “Who should I call for commercial HVAC repair in Wesley Chapel, FL?”2 answers
  • “Who should I call for ductless mini-split installation in 33543?”2 answers

The other 12 questions asked for other jobs or worded the request differently. All 30 answers were about Wesley Chapel, in Pasco County (ZIP codes 33543, 33544, 33545 and 33559). By assistant: ChatGPT 12, Claude 12 and Google AI Mode 6.

The questions covered eight specific jobs. The most asked here, each with its own post:

The question underneath all of them

“Does this contractor really come to my part of Wesley Chapel, and do they do the job I need?” Only HVAC jobs were asked about in Wesley Chapel; assistants checked each company’s ZIP codes and job list and often could not confirm either.

What your Wesley Chapel page has to explain

This research asked about Wesley Chapel only for HVAC jobs, so the town post rests on those few answers. Treat them as a first look. Wesley Chapel spans several ZIP codes, and questions named them directly, most often 33543 and 33544. Assistants checked whether a contractor named the ZIP code, and said when a company with many reviews did not say it served Wesley Chapel.

A contractor that said it served Wesley Chapel still had to show it did the job. Answers told customers to ask each company whether it does that specific work, since not all of them do. A contractor page for Wesley Chapel should list its jobs by name and give each main job enough detail for a customer to check before calling.

The remaining advice was about the paperwork. Assistants told customers to get written quotes from more than one contractor, to compare what each included, and to ask about the warranty on labor as well as equipment. They also told customers to look up the license on the state DBPR site and ask who pulls the Pasco County permit.

53% of the answers (16 of 30) brought this up.

Can the customer look up the license?

Assistants told customers to look up each contractor on the state DBPR site and ask for proof of insurance. Several said they had not checked any license themselves.

— Claude, asked “Who should I call for ductless mini-split installation in 33543?”, October 12, 2026

What the assistants couldn’t find

In 12 of the 30 answers, the assistant said it couldn’t find or confirm something it needed about a company. By assistant: Claude in 12 of its 12, ChatGPT in 0 of its 12 and Google AI Mode in 0 of its 6. As we asked it, Claude usually says what it couldn’t confirm; ChatGPT and Google AI Mode seldom do, so these counts mostly show what Claude couldn’t find. Most often:

  • A phone number or other way to reach the company: 9 answers
  • Whether the company serves the customer’s town or ZIP code: 5 answers
  • Reviews it could check: 4 answers

Compared with the larger towns: Claude said it couldn’t confirm something in 12 of its 12 answers about Wesley Chapel (100%), and couldn’t confirm that any company served Wesley Chapel in 5 (42%). In the eight largest towns we studied, those figures were 40% and 4%.

For a contractor that serves Wesley Chapel, this is an opening. Assistants most often could not find a phone number, and sometimes could not confirm service to the customer’s ZIP code. A page with the town’s ZIP codes, the jobs done there and one working number answers both.

I didn't find phone numbers or verified customer reviews for any of them, and the search turned up mostly company marketing pages.

— Claude, asked “Looking for someone to do air purifier installation in Wesley Chapel, FL before the end of the month. Any recommendations?”, October 10, 2026

Where the assistants sent people

Each answer linked to the pages the assistant relied on. Of the 24 ChatGPT and Claude answers about home services in Wesley Chapel, FL, this is how many linked at least once to each kind of site:

  • A contractor’s own website: 100% (24 answers)
  • A directory or review site such as Yelp, Angi or the BBB: 38% (9 answers)
  • A manufacturer or home-improvement guide: 29% (7 answers)
  • An official license lookup: 8% (2 answers)

A contractor’s own website was the page linked most often, so your site is usually what the customer is sent to read.

Google AI Mode works differently. In 100% of its 6 answers, the links opened Google’s own listing for a business rather than a website. There, your Google Business Profile is the page the customer sees, so it needs the same facts as your site.

Going further: let assistants see real openings

For an urgent job, “open now” doesn’t answer the customer’s real question: can the right technician get to this address within the next few hours?

Merchant Context builds custom integrations with scheduling software so customers and AI assistants can read your current availability. Where your system records the job type, service area, duration and crew capacity, the integration can show those details with each opening, so an assistant can match it to the request instead of guessing.

We scope each connection to the software and data you actually have. A displayed opening is not a confirmed booking: the customer still confirms through your normal booking process, and the information is only useful while it is fresh.

How we got these numbers

The questions, counts and quotes on this page come from the 30 answers ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode gave between October 9 and October 14, 2026. Every question named Wesley Chapel or one of its ZIP codes. We collected them with software rather than the consumer apps, which can answer differently. We counted what each answer mentioned, what it said it couldn’t find and where it linked. Quotes never name a business.

The study figures come from an earlier set of assistant conversations in July and August 2026 across eight trades, coded for the reason each business was included or left out. Counts overlap and are never added together.
