What people actually asked

We asked 18 different questions here between October 9 and October 14, 2026. These are the six asked most, word for word, with how many of the 30 answers each produced:

  • “Air purifier installation near me — I'm in Apollo Beach, FL 33570. Who do you recommend?”2 answers
  • “Ductless mini-split installation near me — I'm in 33570. Who do you recommend?”2 answers
  • “I need commercial HVAC repair within the next few hours — I'm in 33570. Who can actually come out?”2 answers
  • “I'm looking to get duct installation done in 33570 in two weeks. Who should I get quotes from?”2 answers
  • “Looking for someone to do air purifier installation in Apollo Beach, FL next month. Any recommendations?”2 answers
  • “Who should I call for commercial HVAC repair in Apollo Beach, FL 33570?”2 answers

The other 12 questions asked for other jobs or worded the request differently. All 30 answers were about Apollo Beach, in Hillsborough County (ZIP codes 33570, 33572 and 33573). By assistant: ChatGPT 12, Claude 12 and Google AI Mode 6.

The questions covered eight specific jobs. The most asked here, each with its own post:

The question underneath all of them

“Which HVAC company near Apollo Beach actually does the job I need, and how do I reach it?” Assistants usually found companies that served Apollo Beach, but often could not tell whether they did the job asked for or find a phone number.

What your Apollo Beach HVAC page has to explain

The sample for Apollo Beach is small, so read it as an early look. Even so, assistants were rarely left without a company that named the town. Many answers named companies that listed Apollo Beach, alongside others from Ruskin, Riverview, Sun City Center and Tampa. Some answers read 33570 as a Ruskin ZIP code, so a page that names Apollo Beach and each of its ZIP codes removes the doubt.

The harder question was the job itself. People asked about duct installation, ductless mini-splits, commercial repair, air purifiers and thermostats. Assistants often found a company page that listed duct cleaning or general AC work, but said nothing about the install the customer wanted. They told customers to call and ask. An Apollo Beach HVAC page should name each job the company does there.

For installs, answers wanted the details in writing. They told customers to ask for a load calculation, the exact equipment, who handles the permit and what upkeep will cost later, such as filters or UV bulbs. A few answers noted that Apollo Beach is coastal and told customers to ask about corrosion protection for the outdoor unit. The page should explain how the company handles each of these.

What the assistants looked for before recommending anyone

What the assistants couldn’t find

In 12 of the 30 answers, the assistant said it couldn’t find or confirm something it needed about a company. By assistant: Claude in 11 of its 12, ChatGPT in 1 of its 12 and Google AI Mode in 0 of its 6. As we asked it, Claude usually says what it couldn’t confirm; ChatGPT and Google AI Mode seldom do, so these counts mostly show what Claude couldn’t find. Most often:

  • A phone number or other way to reach the company: 9 answers
  • Reviews it could check: 3 answers

Compared with the larger towns: Claude said it couldn’t confirm something in 11 of its 12 answers about Apollo Beach (92%), and couldn’t confirm that any company served Apollo Beach in 1 (8%). In the eight largest towns we studied, those figures were 39% and 4% for HVAC.

In Apollo Beach, assistants most often could not find a phone number they trusted, and several left numbers out rather than guess. A company that serves Apollo Beach can close that gap with a working number on the page and a plain list of the HVAC jobs it does there.

I didn't find verified phone numbers for these, so I haven't listed any.

— Claude, asked “I'm looking to get duct installation done in 33570 in two weeks. Who should I get quotes from?”, October 11, 2026

Google AI Mode works differently. In 100% of its 6 answers, the links opened Google’s own listing for a business rather than a website. There, your Google Business Profile is the page the customer sees, so it needs the same facts as your site.

Going further: let assistants see real openings

For an urgent job, “open now” doesn’t answer the customer’s real question: can the right technician get to this address within the next few hours?

Merchant Context builds custom integrations with scheduling software so customers and AI assistants can read your current availability. Where your system records the job type, service area, duration and crew capacity, the integration can show those details with each opening, so an assistant can match it to the request instead of guessing.

We scope each connection to the software and data you actually have. A displayed opening is not a confirmed booking: the customer still confirms through your normal booking process, and the information is only useful while it is fresh.

Questions owners ask

Why would an AI assistant skip my HVAC company for an Apollo Beach job?

In this small sample, assistants often found companies serving Apollo Beach but could not tell whether they did the job asked for. A page that listed duct cleaning but not duct installation, for example, left them unsure. They also often could not find a phone number they trusted.

Should my Apollo Beach page list 33570 and 33572?

Yes, if you serve both. Questions here often used 33570, and some answers treated it as a Ruskin ZIP code. Naming Apollo Beach together with each of its ZIP codes lets a customer, or an assistant, see the address is covered.

What should an Apollo Beach mini-split or duct quote include?

Assistants told customers to ask for a load calculation, the exact equipment model, the permit, electrical and drainage work, the warranty and the total installed price. A few also suggested asking about corrosion protection near the coast. Say on the page which of these your quote covers.

Which AI assistants did you test?

ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode. Between October 9 and October 14, 2026, they answered 30 questions about HVAC work in Apollo Beach, FL: ChatGPT 12, Claude 12, Google AI Mode 6.

Will these changes guarantee a recommendation?

No. Nobody can promise that. These changes supply what the assistants were looking for in our research. Whether they move recommendations for your business is something to measure after they go live.

How we got these numbers

The questions, counts and quotes on this page come from the 30 answers ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode gave between October 9 and October 14, 2026. Every question named Apollo Beach or one of its ZIP codes. We collected them with software rather than the consumer apps, which can answer differently. We counted what each answer mentioned, what it said it couldn’t find and where it linked. Quotes never name a business.

The study figures come from an earlier set of assistant conversations in July and August 2026 across eight trades, coded for the reason each business was included or left out. Counts overlap and are never added together.
