What people actually asked

We asked 18 different questions here between October 9 and October 14, 2026. These are the six asked most, word for word, with how many of the 30 answers each produced:

  • “Air purifier installation near me — I'm in Mango, FL. Who do you recommend?”2 answers
  • “I need commercial HVAC repair today — I'm in Mango, FL 33550. Who can actually come out?”2 answers
  • “I'm looking to get duct installation done in 33550 in two weeks. Who should I get quotes from?”2 answers
  • “Looking for someone to do air purifier installation in Mango, FL 33550 in the next few weeks. Any recommendations?”2 answers
  • “Who should I call for commercial HVAC repair in Mango, FL 33550?”2 answers
  • “Who should I call for duct installation in Mango, FL?”2 answers

The other 12 questions asked for other jobs or worded the request differently. All 30 answers were about Mango, in Hillsborough County (ZIP codes 33550, 33584 and 33610). By assistant: ChatGPT 12, Claude 12 and Google AI Mode 6.

The questions covered eight specific jobs. The most asked here, each with its own post:

The question underneath all of them

“Does any HVAC company actually come out to Mango, and which town is 33550 anyway?” Assistants could not always tell which town ZIP code 33550 belonged to, so they searched Brandon, Seffner and other towns and told customers to ask.

What your Mango HVAC page has to explain

The sample for Mango is small, but one thing stands out. Assistants were not sure where 33550 was. Some answers called it a PO Box ZIP code near Brandon and Seffner. Others searched Plant City, or Sun City Center and Ruskin to the south. Some said none of their results listed it as a service area.

When they did find Mango, it was usually on a nearby company’s list beside Brandon, Seffner or East Hillsborough. Assistants then told customers to ask whether the company would travel to Mango. A Mango HVAC page that names the town and its ZIP codes, and says where the crews start, removes that guess.

The jobs asked about were installs and commercial repair: ducts, ductless mini-splits, air purifiers and commercial HVAC. Several answers said a general installer may not do every one, and told customers to ask. For commercial work, they told customers to ask for a Florida license that covers it, with references from similar buildings.

— Claude, asked “Who should I call for ductless mini-split installation in 33550?”, October 12, 2026

What the assistants couldn’t find

In 12 of the 30 answers, the assistant said it couldn’t find or confirm something it needed about a company. By assistant: Claude in 12 of its 12, ChatGPT in 0 of its 12 and Google AI Mode in 0 of its 6. As we asked it, Claude usually says what it couldn’t confirm; ChatGPT and Google AI Mode seldom do, so these counts mostly show what Claude couldn’t find. Most often:

  • A phone number or other way to reach the company: 11 answers

Compared with the larger towns: Claude said it couldn’t confirm something in 12 of its 12 answers about Mango (100%), and couldn’t confirm that any company served Mango in 2 (17%). In the eight largest towns we studied, those figures were 39% and 4% for HVAC.

For a company that serves Mango, the confusion is an opening. Assistants were unsure where 33550 was and rarely found a phone number they trusted. A page that names Mango, its ZIP codes and the town your crews come from, with one working number, answers both.

I couldn't find a company that clearly does duct installation in Mango, FL, and I don't have a verified phone number for one.

Where the assistants sent people

Each answer linked to the pages the assistant relied on. Of the 24 ChatGPT and Claude answers about HVAC work in Mango, FL, this is how many linked at least once to each kind of site:

Google AI Mode works differently. In 100% of its 6 answers, the links opened Google’s own listing for a business rather than a website. There, your Google Business Profile is the page the customer sees, so it needs the same facts as your site.

Going further: let assistants see real openings

For an urgent job, “open now” doesn’t answer the customer’s real question: can the right technician get to this address within the next few hours?

Merchant Context builds custom integrations with scheduling software so customers and AI assistants can read your current availability. Where your system records the job type, service area, duration and crew capacity, the integration can show those details with each opening, so an assistant can match it to the request instead of guessing.

We scope each connection to the software and data you actually have. A displayed opening is not a confirmed booking: the customer still confirms through your normal booking process, and the information is only useful while it is fresh.

How we got these numbers

The questions, counts and quotes on this page come from the 30 answers ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode gave between October 9 and October 14, 2026. Every question named Mango or one of its ZIP codes. We collected them with software rather than the consumer apps, which can answer differently. We counted what each answer mentioned, what it said it couldn’t find and where it linked. Quotes never name a business.

The study figures come from an earlier set of assistant conversations in July and August 2026 across eight trades, coded for the reason each business was included or left out. Counts overlap and are never added together.
