What people actually asked

We asked 17 different questions here between October 9 and October 14, 2026. These are the six asked most, word for word, with how many of the 29 answers each produced:

  • “Air purifier installation near me — I'm in 34654. Who do you recommend?”2 answers
  • “Commercial HVAC repair near me — I'm in Moon Lake, FL 34654. Who do you recommend?”2 answers
  • “I need commercial HVAC repair today — I'm in Moon Lake, FL. Who can actually come out?”2 answers
  • “I'm looking to get duct installation done in Moon Lake, FL in the next few weeks. Who should I get quotes from?”2 answers
  • “Looking for someone to do air purifier installation in 34654 in the next few weeks. Any recommendations?”2 answers
  • “Who should I call for commercial HVAC repair in Moon Lake, FL?”2 answers

The other 11 questions asked for other jobs or worded the request differently. All 29 answers were about Moon Lake, in Pasco County (ZIP codes 34654). By assistant: ChatGPT 12, Claude 12 and Google AI Mode 5.

The questions covered eight specific jobs. The most asked here, each with its own post:

The question underneath all of them

“Will any HVAC company actually come out to Moon Lake for the job I need?” Assistants rarely found an HVAC company that named Moon Lake, so they offered New Port Richey companies and told customers to ask.

What your Moon Lake HVAC page has to explain

The Moon Lake sample is small, so read it as a first look. The answers still agree on the main point. Several described Moon Lake as a small community in western Pasco County, near New Port Richey. Finding no installer that named it, they listed the closest companies instead and said to confirm each one serves the address.

Some answers treated 34654 as a New Port Richey ZIP code and searched under that name instead. A company listed there may already serve Moon Lake homes. The page should say so in plain words: name Moon Lake, name 34654, and say which town the trucks leave from.

The questions were about specific installs and repairs: new ductwork, ductless mini-splits, whole-home air purifiers, ventilation and commercial repair. Answers often found an HVAC company nearby but could not tell whether it did the job asked about. A Moon Lake HVAC page should list the jobs done there, including whether the company takes commercial work.

What the assistants looked for before recommending anyone

We read all 29 answers to see what the assistants looked for before naming a company for HVAC work in Moon Lake, FL, what they told the customer to ask, and what they said they couldn’t find.

What the assistants told customers to ask

Most common first:

Will a company from a nearby town come out to Moon Lake?

Most answers named companies from New Port Richey, Port Richey or Tampa, because few named Moon Lake. Assistants then told customers to ask whether that company would travel to their address.

83% of the answers (24 of 29) brought this up.

I didn't check whether the two Tampa companies serve your area, so ask when you call.

— Claude, asked “Who should I call for ductless mini-split installation in Moon Lake, FL 34654?”, October 12, 2026

Does the service-area list name Moon Lake?

Assistants looked for an installer that listed Moon Lake by name and often found none. When a company's list stopped at New Port Richey, they could not say for sure it covered Moon Lake.

59% of the answers (17 of 29) brought this up.

I couldn't find a well-reviewed duct installer that lists Moon Lake itself as a service area.

— Claude, asked “I'm looking to get duct installation done in Moon Lake, FL in the next few weeks. Who should I get quotes from?”, October 11, 2026

What does the quote include, and who pulls the permit?

For installs, assistants told customers to get itemized written quotes and compare what each one covered. They asked about sizing, sealing, electrical work and the permit, and one noted Pasco County's permit for duct work.

55% of the answers (16 of 29) brought this up.

Ask for a quote that includes duct sizing, sealing, insulation, permits, and airflow testing.

— ChatGPT, asked “Who should I call for duct installation in Moon Lake, FL?”, October 9, 2026

Can a Moon Lake customer look up the license?

Answers told customers to ask for the contractor's Florida license number and look it up on the state DBPR site. With so few companies confirmed for Moon Lake, the license was one thing a customer could check alone.

38% of the answers (11 of 29) brought this up.

I couldn't check any license numbers against the state database, so verify them before you hire.

— Claude, asked “I'm looking to get ductless mini-split installation done in 34654 in two weeks. Who should I get quotes from?”, October 14, 2026

Does the nearby company do this particular install?

Many answers found a nearby HVAC company whose page did not mention ductwork, mini-splits, purifiers or ventilation. They told customers to ask whether the company does that job before booking a visit.

31% of the answers (9 of 29) brought this up.

Ask each company whether they do the kind of job you need, such as new ducts, replacement, or a retrofit.

— Claude, asked “Duct installation near me — I'm in Moon Lake, FL. Who do you recommend?”, October 10, 2026

What the assistants couldn’t find

In 12 of the 29 answers, the assistant said it couldn’t find or confirm something it needed about a company. By assistant: Claude in 12 of its 12, ChatGPT in 0 of its 12 and Google AI Mode in 0 of its 5. As we asked it, Claude usually says what it couldn’t confirm; ChatGPT and Google AI Mode seldom do, so these counts mostly show what Claude couldn’t find. Most often:

  • A phone number or other way to reach the company: 9 answers
  • Whether the company serves the customer’s town or ZIP code: 6 answers

Compared with the larger towns: Claude said it couldn’t confirm something in 12 of its 12 answers about Moon Lake (100%), and couldn’t confirm that any company served Moon Lake in 6 (50%). In the eight largest towns we studied, those figures were 39% and 4% for HVAC.

For a company that serves Moon Lake, this is an opening. Assistants often could not confirm anyone came out there, and they rarely found a phone number they trusted. A page that names Moon Lake, gives a working number and lists the jobs done there answers both.

I couldn't find any duct installers listed in Moon Lake itself.

Where the assistants sent people

Each answer linked to the pages the assistant relied on. Of the 24 ChatGPT and Claude answers about HVAC work in Moon Lake, FL, this is how many linked at least once to each kind of site:

  • A contractor’s own website: 96% (23 answers)
  • A manufacturer or home-improvement guide: 42% (10 answers)
  • A directory or review site such as Yelp, Angi or the BBB: 33% (8 answers)
  • An official license lookup: 8% (2 answers)

A contractor’s own website was the page linked most often, so your site is usually what the customer is sent to read.

Google AI Mode works differently. In 100% of its 5 answers, the links opened Google’s own listing for a business rather than a website. There, your Google Business Profile is the page the customer sees, so it needs the same facts as your site.

Going further: let assistants see real openings

For an urgent job, “open now” doesn’t answer the customer’s real question: can the right technician get to this address within the next few hours?

Merchant Context builds custom integrations with scheduling software so customers and AI assistants can read your current availability. Where your system records the job type, service area, duration and crew capacity, the integration can show those details with each opening, so an assistant can match it to the request instead of guessing.

We scope each connection to the software and data you actually have. A displayed opening is not a confirmed booking: the customer still confirms through your normal booking process, and the information is only useful while it is fresh.

No. Nobody can promise that. These changes supply what the assistants were looking for in our research. Whether they move recommendations for your business is something to measure after they go live.

How we got these numbers

The questions, counts and quotes on this page come from the 29 answers ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode gave between October 9 and October 14, 2026. Every question named Moon Lake or one of its ZIP codes. We collected them with software rather than the consumer apps, which can answer differently. We counted what each answer mentioned, what it said it couldn’t find and where it linked. Quotes never name a business.

The study figures come from an earlier set of assistant conversations in July and August 2026 across eight trades, coded for the reason each business was included or left out. Counts overlap and are never added together.
