What people actually asked

We asked 18 different questions here between October 9 and October 14, 2026. These are the six asked most, word for word, with how many of the 30 answers each produced:

  • “Air purifier installation near me — I'm in 33540. Who do you recommend?”2 answers
  • “Commercial HVAC repair near me — I'm in Zephyrhills, FL 33540. Who do you recommend?”2 answers
  • “I need commercial HVAC repair tonight — I'm in 33540. Who can actually come out?”2 answers
  • “I'm looking to get duct installation done in 33540 in the next few weeks. Who should I get quotes from?”2 answers
  • “Looking for someone to do air purifier installation in Zephyrhills, FL next month. Any recommendations?”2 answers
  • “Who should I call for commercial HVAC repair in 33540?”2 answers

The other 12 questions asked for other jobs or worded the request differently. All 30 answers were about Zephyrhills, in Pasco County (ZIP codes 33540, 33541 and 33542). By assistant: ChatGPT 12, Claude 12 and Google AI Mode 6.

The questions covered eight specific jobs. The most asked here, each with its own post:

The question underneath all of them

“Is there an HVAC company that actually covers Zephyrhills, or will I be calling Wesley Chapel?” Assistants often named HVAC companies from Wesley Chapel for Zephyrhills, and trusted those whose pages named Zephyrhills or 33540.

What your Zephyrhills HVAC page has to explain

The Zephyrhills sample is small, so treat it as a first look. Assistants found few HVAC companies based in Zephyrhills itself. Many they named were in Wesley Chapel, and some answers described 33540 as part of a Zephyrhills and Wesley Chapel area. One answer noted a company that served the area from Tampa to Lakeland, and said its page did not say whether that included Zephyrhills.

That is the clearest lesson for a Zephyrhills page. A range of towns or a county name left assistants guessing. A few answers instead linked a company page made for one job in Zephyrhills, such as duct installation or mini-splits. A Zephyrhills HVAC page should name the town and its ZIP codes, not only the region around it.

For installs, assistants told customers to ask whether the quote includes a load calculation and duct sizing, the permit and the electrical work. For air purifiers, they asked about the exact model, replacement filter or bulb costs, and whether the unit makes ozone. For a commercial breakdown at night, they told customers to ask for a confirmed arrival time and the after-hours fee.

I couldn't verify reviews or current licensing for any of them, so treat this as a shortlist to call, not a ranking.

What the assistants couldn’t find

In 10 of the 30 answers, the assistant said it couldn’t find or confirm something it needed about a company. By assistant: Claude in 10 of its 12, ChatGPT in 0 of its 12 and Google AI Mode in 0 of its 6. As we asked it, Claude usually says what it couldn’t confirm; ChatGPT and Google AI Mode seldom do, so these counts mostly show what Claude couldn’t find. Most often:

  • A phone number or other way to reach the company: 8 answers
  • Whether the company serves the customer’s town or ZIP code: 3 answers
  • Reviews it could check: 3 answers

Compared with the larger towns: Claude said it couldn’t confirm something in 10 of its 12 answers about Zephyrhills (83%), and couldn’t confirm that any company served Zephyrhills in 3 (25%). In the eight largest towns we studied, those figures were 39% and 4% for HVAC.

For an HVAC company that works in Zephyrhills, this is an opening. Assistants most often could not find a phone number they trusted, and sometimes could not confirm anyone served the town. A page that names Zephyrhills and its ZIP codes and gives a working number answers both.

The results were mostly directory and marketing pages, and I didn't find verified phone numbers for most companies.

Where the assistants sent people

Each answer linked to the pages the assistant relied on. Of the 24 ChatGPT and Claude answers about HVAC work in Zephyrhills, FL, this is how many linked at least once to each kind of site:

  • A contractor’s own website: 100% (24 answers)
  • A directory or review site such as Yelp, Angi or the BBB: 50% (12 answers)
  • An official license lookup: 17% (4 answers)
  • A manufacturer or home-improvement guide: 4% (1 answer)

A contractor’s own website was the page linked most often, so your site is usually what the customer is sent to read.

Google AI Mode works differently. In 100% of its 6 answers, the links opened Google’s own listing for a business rather than a website. There, your Google Business Profile is the page the customer sees, so it needs the same facts as your site.

Going further: let assistants see real openings

For an urgent job, “open now” doesn’t answer the customer’s real question: can the right technician get to this address within the next few hours?

Merchant Context builds custom integrations with scheduling software so customers and AI assistants can read your current availability. Where your system records the job type, service area, duration and crew capacity, the integration can show those details with each opening, so an assistant can match it to the request instead of guessing.

We scope each connection to the software and data you actually have. A displayed opening is not a confirmed booking: the customer still confirms through your normal booking process, and the information is only useful while it is fresh.

Questions owners ask

My HVAC company is in Wesley Chapel. Should my page name Zephyrhills?

If you work there, yes. Answers about Zephyrhills often named Wesley Chapel companies, and said when a page did not name Zephyrhills itself. Naming Zephyrhills and its ZIP codes, and saying where your technicians start, answers that before the call.

Is listing a region enough for Zephyrhills?

Not in these answers. One assistant found a company that listed its area as running from Tampa to Lakeland and said Zephyrhills might be included, but the page did not say. Naming the town directly removes that guess for the customer.

Which HVAC jobs did people ask about in Zephyrhills?

The questions here asked about commercial HVAC repair, duct installation, ductless mini-splits, air purifiers, thermostats and ventilation. Assistants often could not tell whether a company did that exact job, so a page that lists them helps the customer check.

Which AI assistants did you test?

ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode. Between October 9 and October 14, 2026, they answered 30 questions about HVAC work in Zephyrhills, FL: ChatGPT 12, Claude 12, Google AI Mode 6.

Will these changes guarantee a recommendation?

No. Nobody can promise that. These changes supply what the assistants were looking for in our research. Whether they move recommendations for your business is something to measure after they go live.

How we got these numbers

The questions, counts and quotes on this page come from the 30 answers ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode gave between October 9 and October 14, 2026. Every question named Zephyrhills or one of its ZIP codes. We collected them with software rather than the consumer apps, which can answer differently. We counted what each answer mentioned, what it said it couldn’t find and where it linked. Quotes never name a business.

The study figures come from an earlier set of assistant conversations in July and August 2026 across eight trades, coded for the reason each business was included or left out. Counts overlap and are never added together.
