Who AI assistants recommend for home services in Brandon, FL

The short answer

This is a small sample, and so far Brandon questions have all been HVAC questions. Assistants usually found contractors in Brandon or serving 33510. What they could not settle was whether a company did the exact job asked about, what its quote included, and what phone number to call. They said to check the license and ask for references.

What people actually asked

We asked 18 different questions here between October 9 and October 14, 2026. These are the six asked most, word for word, with how many of the 30 answers each produced:

  • “Air purifier installation near me — I'm in Brandon, FL 33510. Who do you recommend?”2 answers
  • “I need commercial HVAC repair today — I'm in 33510. Who can actually come out?”2 answers
  • “I'm looking to get duct installation done in 33510 next month. Who should I get quotes from?”2 answers
  • “Looking for someone to do air purifier installation in Brandon, FL next month. Any recommendations?”2 answers
  • “Who should I call for commercial HVAC repair in Brandon, FL 33510?”2 answers
  • “Who should I call for ductless mini-split installation in Brandon, FL 33510?”2 answers

The other 12 questions asked for other jobs or worded the request differently. All 30 answers were about Brandon, in Hillsborough County (ZIP codes 33510, 33511, 33584, 33594 and 33619). By assistant: ChatGPT 12, Claude 12 and Google AI Mode 6.

The questions covered eight specific jobs. The most asked here, each with its own post:

The question underneath all of them

“Who in Brandon really does this job, and can I reach them?” So far only HVAC jobs were asked about in Brandon; assistants found local companies but often could not tell who did the exact job or find a phone number.

What your Brandon page has to explain

The Brandon sample is small, and all of it comes from HVAC questions. No plumbing, electrical or roofing jobs were asked about here yet. So this post shows what assistants checked for one trade in Brandon. The same checks may apply to other trades, but these answers cannot show that.

Finding a Brandon company was rarely the hard part. Assistants named companies based in Brandon, with a Brandon office or with a page for 33510. The harder question was fit. A duct cleaning company might not install ducts. A company whose Brandon page covered homes might not take commercial work. Assistants told customers to ask before counting on either.

Reviews were thin for some of the companies named. Assistants noted listings with no reviews yet, or a review about a different job, and told customers to ask for local references. A Brandon page that names the jobs done here, with reviews or references for them, answers what these assistants could not.

In 12 of the 30 answers, the assistant said it couldn’t find or confirm something it needed about a company. By assistant: Claude in 12 of its 12, ChatGPT in 0 of its 12 and Google AI Mode in 0 of its 6. As we asked it, Claude usually says what it couldn’t confirm; ChatGPT and Google AI Mode seldom do, so these counts mostly show what Claude couldn’t find. Most often:

  • A phone number or other way to reach the company: 10 answers
  • Reviews it could check: 4 answers

Compared with the larger towns: Claude said it couldn’t confirm something in 12 of its 12 answers about Brandon (100%), and couldn’t confirm that any company served Brandon in 2 (17%). In the eight largest towns we studied, those figures were 40% and 4%.

I couldn't find verified numbers for the others, so confirm contact details on each company's own site.

Where the assistants sent people

Each answer linked to the pages the assistant relied on. Of the 24 ChatGPT and Claude answers about home services in Brandon, FL, this is how many linked at least once to each kind of site:

  • A contractor’s own website: 100% (24 answers)
  • A directory or review site such as Yelp, Angi or the BBB: 50% (12 answers)
  • A manufacturer or home-improvement guide: 21% (5 answers)

A contractor’s own website was the page linked most often, so your site is usually what the customer is sent to read.

Google AI Mode works differently. In 83% of its 6 answers, the links opened Google’s own listing for a business rather than a website. There, your Google Business Profile is the page the customer sees, so it needs the same facts as your site.

  2. Name Brandon and the ZIP codes you serve, such as 33510 and 33511, and say where you are based.
  3. Show what a typical Brandon written quote from your company includes.
  4. Say which Brandon jobs need a permit and whether its cost and timing are in your quote.
  5. Post your Florida license number with a DBPR link, and state your liability coverage.
  6. List each job you do in Brandon by name, and say which ones you do not take.
  7. Link to reviews from Brandon customers and offer references for the jobs you do most.

Going further: let assistants see real openings

For an urgent job, “open now” doesn’t answer the customer’s real question: can the right technician get to this address within the next few hours?

Merchant Context builds custom integrations with scheduling software so customers and AI assistants can read your current availability. Where your system records the job type, service area, duration and crew capacity, the integration can show those details with each opening, so an assistant can match it to the request instead of guessing.

We scope each connection to the software and data you actually have. A displayed opening is not a confirmed booking: the customer still confirms through your normal booking process, and the information is only useful while it is fresh.

Questions owners ask

Should my Brandon page list every job we do?

It helps. Assistants could often find a Brandon company but not whether it did the job asked about, such as installing ducts or taking commercial work. A page that names the jobs you do in Brandon, and the ones you do not, answers that before the call.

Why does this Brandon post only cover HVAC questions?

So far, every question asked about Brandon in this research was about HVAC work, such as ductwork, mini-splits, purifiers and commercial repair. The checks assistants made may apply to other trades too, but these answers only show them for HVAC.

What did AI assistants most often miss for Brandon contractors?

Phone numbers. Assistants usually found a company in Brandon or one serving 33510, but most could not find a number they trusted. Reviews were the next gap. A working number and links to recent reviews answer both.

Which AI assistants did you test?

ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode. Between October 9 and October 14, 2026, they answered 30 questions about home services in Brandon, FL: ChatGPT 12, Claude 12, Google AI Mode 6.

Will these changes guarantee a recommendation?

No. Nobody can promise that. These changes supply what the assistants were looking for in our research. Whether they move recommendations for your business is something to measure after they go live.

How we got these numbers

The questions, counts and quotes on this page come from the 30 answers ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode gave between October 9 and October 14, 2026. Every question named Brandon or one of its ZIP codes. We collected them with software rather than the consumer apps, which can answer differently. We counted what each answer mentioned, what it said it couldn’t find and where it linked. Quotes never name a business.

The study figures come from an earlier set of assistant conversations in July and August 2026 across eight trades, coded for the reason each business was included or left out. Counts overlap and are never added together.
