Who AI assistants recommend for home services in Dade City, FL
We asked ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode for home services in Dade City, FL recommendations 30 times. Here is what they could and could not confirm about contractors for a Dade City home or business.
The short answer
This is a small sample, and every question in it was about HVAC work. Assistants found companies in Dade City and nearby Zephyrhills, but often could not tell whether a company did ductwork, mini-splits, air purifiers or commercial repair. They told customers to ask, get a written scope and confirm who pulls the permit.

The question underneath all of them
“Which local company in Dade City actually does the job I need?” Every Dade City question here was about HVAC; assistants found local and Zephyrhills companies but often could not tell whether they did the job asked.
What your Dade City page has to explain
Only HVAC jobs were asked about in Dade City so far, so this post says nothing yet about plumbing, electrical or roofing there. Within HVAC, the answers did find companies with a Dade City address, along with others from Zephyrhills and nearby towns. When a company listed only Zephyrhills ZIP codes, assistants told customers to ask whether it would travel to Dade City.
The harder question was the job itself. Many company pages the answers read were mostly about AC repair and installation. They said little about duct work, mini-splits, in-duct purifiers or commercial units. Assistants then told customers to ask about that work specifically before booking. A Dade City page that lists each job a company does settles that question.
For duct and system installs, answers wanted a written scope. They asked it to cover duct sizing, sealing, airflow testing, removal of old ductwork, the warranty and who pulls the Pasco County permit. Some also told customers to ask whether the company’s own employees would do the install or a subcontractor would.
What the assistants looked for before recommending anyone
We read all 30 answers to see what the assistants looked for before naming a company for home services in Dade City, FL, what they told the customer to ask, and what they said they couldn’t find.
What the assistants told customers to ask
Most common first:
Will a Zephyrhills company travel to Dade City?
Answers often named companies from Zephyrhills and other nearby towns alongside Dade City ones. When a company listed only its own town’s ZIP codes, assistants told customers to ask whether it would come to Dade City.
63% of the answers (19 of 30) brought this up.
Its listed ZIP codes are 33539–33542, so ask whether they'll travel to Dade City.
Does the company do this specific job?
Many pages the answers found covered AC repair and installation but not ductwork, mini-splits or air purifiers. Assistants told customers to ask about the job by name.
60% of the answers (18 of 30) brought this up.
Its page is mostly about AC repair and installation, so ask them about duct work specifically.
Will the quote be in writing?
Answers told customers to ask for the earliest appointment and a written quote. For ducts, they wanted a written scope that separated equipment, labor and the permit.
47% of the answers (14 of 30) brought this up.
Ask for the earliest appointment and a written quote.
Is the company in Dade City, or does it serve Dade City?
Assistants pointed out companies that were local to Dade City. For others, they said they could not confirm the company served Dade City itself.
43% of the answers (13 of 30) brought this up.
I didn't see its review scores, and I didn't confirm that it serves Dade City itself.
Who handles the Pasco County permit for a Dade City install?
Assistants told Dade City customers to ask who pulls the Pasco County permit and whether it is in the quote. A review complaint about a permit left open also came up.
40% of the answers (12 of 30) brought this up.
Ask whether the quote includes permits, insulation rating, duct sizing, sealing with mastic, and removal of old ductwork.
Does the company take commercial jobs?
For commercial HVAC repair, assistants often found listings aimed at homeowners. They told customers to ask each company about commercial work and their type of equipment before booking.
20% of the answers (6 of 30) brought this up.
Most local listings are aimed at homeowners, so ask each one about commercial work before you book.
What the assistants couldn’t find
In 11 of the 30 answers, the assistant said it couldn’t find or confirm something it needed about a company. By assistant: Claude in 10 of its 12, ChatGPT in 1 of its 12 and Google AI Mode in 0 of its 6. As we asked it, Claude usually says what it couldn’t confirm; ChatGPT and Google AI Mode seldom do, so these counts mostly show what Claude couldn’t find. Most often:
- Reviews it could check: 3 answers
Compared with the larger towns: Claude said it couldn’t confirm something in 10 of its 12 answers about Dade City (83%), and couldn’t confirm that any company served Dade City in 1 (8%). In the eight largest towns we studied, those figures were 40% and 4%.
In this small sample, assistants found Dade City companies but could seldom confirm what each one did, and they rarely found verified reviews or phone numbers. A Dade City page that lists each job, links to reviews and gives a working number answers what the answers left open.
None of my searches returned a verified phone number, so I haven't listed any.
Where the assistants sent people
Each answer linked to the pages the assistant relied on. Of the 24 ChatGPT and Claude answers about home services in Dade City, FL, this is how many linked at least once to each kind of site:
- A contractor’s own website: 96% (23 answers)
- A directory or review site such as Yelp, Angi or the BBB: 38% (9 answers)
- A manufacturer or home-improvement guide: 38% (9 answers)
- An official license lookup: 21% (5 answers)
A contractor’s own website was the page linked most often, so your site is usually what the customer is sent to read.
Google AI Mode works differently. In 100% of its 6 answers, the links opened Google’s own listing for a business rather than a website. There, your Google Business Profile is the page the customer sees, so it needs the same facts as your site.

Going further: let assistants see real openings
For an urgent job, “open now” doesn’t answer the customer’s real question: can the right technician get to this address within the next few hours?
Merchant Context builds custom integrations with scheduling software so customers and AI assistants can read your current availability. Where your system records the job type, service area, duration and crew capacity, the integration can show those details with each opening, so an assistant can match it to the request instead of guessing.
We scope each connection to the software and data you actually have. A displayed opening is not a confirmed booking: the customer still confirms through your normal booking process, and the information is only useful while it is fresh.

How we got these numbers
The questions, counts and quotes on this page come from the 30 answers ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode gave between October 9 and October 14, 2026. Every question named Dade City or one of its ZIP codes. We collected them with software rather than the consumer apps, which can answer differently. We counted what each answer mentioned, what it said it couldn’t find and where it linked. Quotes never name a business.
The study figures come from an earlier set of assistant conversations in July and August 2026 across eight trades, coded for the reason each business was included or left out. Counts overlap and are never added together.
