The question underneath all of them
“Who near Gibsonton can I call, and does their page say they do my job?” Every Gibsonton question so far was about heating and cooling, and the answers most often missed the phone number and the list of jobs.
What your Gibsonton page has to explain
So far, every question recorded for Gibsonton was about HVAC: commercial repair, ductwork, mini-splits, purifiers, thermostats and ventilation. No plumbing, electrical or roofing questions have been asked here yet. What follows comes from those answers. The points that are not about HVAC itself, such as naming the town, a working number and a checkable license, are ones a Gibsonton page in any trade can act on.
Assistants could usually name a few contractors in the Gibsonton, Ruskin or Riverview area. Where they struggled was the detail. A company’s listing often named its trade but not the jobs inside it. Assistants then told the customer to call and ask. A Gibsonton page that spells out each job the company does there saves that call.
Trust came down to what a customer could check alone. Assistants told customers to look up the Florida license, ask for proof of insurance, and ask for references when a company had no reviews. They treated ratings posted on a company’s own site as unverified. A Gibsonton page should point to records the customer can check, not just claim them.
What the assistants looked for before recommending anyone
We read all 30 answers to see what the assistants looked for before naming a company for home services in Gibsonton, FL, what they told the customer to ask, and what they said they couldn’t find.
What the assistants told customers to ask
Most common first:
Does the company come to 33534?
Some answers described 33534 as the Gibsonton and Ruskin area and named companies based nearby. When a company’s area list left a town out, assistants told the customer to ask about their address.
60% of the answers (18 of 30) brought this up.
Ask if they serve 33534 and how soon they can schedule.
Can the customer look up the license?
Assistants told Gibsonton customers to get the Florida license number, check it on the state lookup and ask for proof of insurance. Some said they had not verified licenses for the companies they named.
43% of the answers (13 of 30) brought this up.

What does the quote include?
Answers told customers to ask what each quote covered before comparing prices. They listed the total installed price, the warranty, removal of old equipment and, for repairs, the diagnostic fee.
40% of the answers (12 of 30) brought this up.
Can the customer see reviews or references?
Assistants often could not find independent reviews for the job asked in Gibsonton. They told customers to ask for references when a company had none, and to treat a company’s own rating with caution.
23% of the answers (7 of 30) brought this up.
I couldn't find independent reviews of air purifier installers near Gibsonton, so I can't vouch for any one company.
Does the page name the job the customer needs?
Answers often named a nearby contractor whose listing did not show the job asked. Assistants told customers to ask whether the company did that work itself, or only part of it.
17% of the answers (5 of 30) brought this up.
The listing doesn't say whether they do duct work.
What the assistants couldn’t find
In 11 of the 30 answers, the assistant said it couldn’t find or confirm something it needed about a company. By assistant: Claude in 11 of its 12, ChatGPT in 0 of its 12 and Google AI Mode in 0 of its 6. As we asked it, Claude usually says what it couldn’t confirm; ChatGPT and Google AI Mode seldom do, so these counts mostly show what Claude couldn’t find. Most often:
- A phone number or other way to reach the company: 10 answers
- Reviews it could check: 4 answers
Compared with the larger towns: Claude said it couldn’t confirm something in 11 of its 12 answers about Gibsonton (92%), and couldn’t confirm that any company served Gibsonton in 2 (17%). In the eight largest towns we studied, those figures were 40% and 4%.
In Gibsonton, assistants most often could not find a phone number, and then could not tell which jobs a company did. Both belong on every Gibsonton page, whatever the trade.
I didn't find phone numbers for them, so check each company's site.
Where the assistants sent people
Each answer linked to the pages the assistant relied on. Of the 24 ChatGPT and Claude answers about home services in Gibsonton, FL, this is how many linked at least once to each kind of site:
- A contractor’s own website: 88% (21 answers)
- A directory or review site such as Yelp, Angi or the BBB: 50% (12 answers)
- A manufacturer or home-improvement guide: 25% (6 answers)
- An official license lookup: 12% (3 answers)
A contractor’s own website was the page linked most often, so your site is usually what the customer is sent to read. ChatGPT linked a contractor’s own site in 100% of its answers, Claude in 75%.
Google AI Mode works differently. In 67% of its 6 answers, the links opened Google’s own listing for a business rather than a website. There, your Google Business Profile is the page the customer sees, so it needs the same facts as your site.

Going further: let assistants see real openings
For an urgent job, “open now” doesn’t answer the customer’s real question: can the right technician get to this address within the next few hours?
Merchant Context builds custom integrations with scheduling software so customers and AI assistants can read your current availability. Where your system records the job type, service area, duration and crew capacity, the integration can show those details with each opening, so an assistant can match it to the request instead of guessing.
We scope each connection to the software and data you actually have. A displayed opening is not a confirmed booking: the customer still confirms through your normal booking process, and the information is only useful while it is fresh.

Questions owners ask
What should a contractor’s Gibsonton page say?
From the answers so far, it should name Gibsonton and 33534, list the jobs the company does there, and give one working phone number. Assistants also told customers to check the Florida license and insurance, so show those with a link to the state lookup.
Were only HVAC questions asked about Gibsonton?
Yes, so far. Every Gibsonton question recorded was about heating and cooling work, such as ductwork, mini-splits and commercial repair. The advice about naming the town, the jobs and a working number is not specific to HVAC, so other trades can use it too.
Why couldn’t AI assistants confirm Gibsonton contractors?
In this small sample, they usually found companies nearby but could not verify a phone number, independent reviews or which jobs each one did. Several said they would not guess. A page that states each of these plainly gives them something to confirm.
Which AI assistants did you test?
ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode. Between October 9 and October 14, 2026, they answered 30 questions about home services in Gibsonton, FL: ChatGPT 12, Claude 12, Google AI Mode 6.
Will these changes guarantee a recommendation?
No. Nobody can promise that. These changes supply what the assistants were looking for in our research. Whether they move recommendations for your business is something to measure after they go live.
How we got these numbers
The questions, counts and quotes on this page come from the 30 answers ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode gave between October 9 and October 14, 2026. Every question named Gibsonton or one of its ZIP codes. We collected them with software rather than the consumer apps, which can answer differently. We counted what each answer mentioned, what it said it couldn’t find and where it linked. Quotes never name a business.
The study figures come from an earlier set of assistant conversations in July and August 2026 across eight trades, coded for the reason each business was included or left out. Counts overlap and are never added together.
