What people actually asked

We asked 18 different questions here between October 9 and October 14, 2026. These are the six asked most, word for word, with how many of the 30 answers each produced:

  • “Air purifier installation near me — I'm in Gibsonton, FL. Who do you recommend?”2 answers
  • “Ductless mini-split installation near me — I'm in 33534. Who do you recommend?”2 answers
  • “I need commercial HVAC repair today — I'm in 33534. Who can actually come out?”2 answers
  • “I'm looking to get duct installation done in Gibsonton, FL sometime this month. Who should I get quotes from?”2 answers
  • “Looking for someone to do air purifier installation in 33534 in the next few weeks. Any recommendations?”2 answers
  • “Who should I call for commercial HVAC repair in Gibsonton, FL?”2 answers

The other 12 questions asked for other jobs or worded the request differently. All 30 answers were about Gibsonton, in Hillsborough County (ZIP codes 33534). By assistant: ChatGPT 12, Claude 12 and Google AI Mode 6.

The questions covered eight specific jobs. The most asked here, each with its own post:

The question underneath all of them

“Which HVAC company near Gibsonton actually does the job I need, and how do I reach them?” Assistants found HVAC companies near Gibsonton but often could not tell from their listings whether they did the job asked, or find a phone number.

What your Gibsonton HVAC page has to explain

The Gibsonton sample is small, so read it as an early look. Unlike some small towns, the answers here usually found companies to name. Some were described as Gibsonton-area companies, and others came from Riverview or Ruskin. Several answers treated 33534 as the Gibsonton and Ruskin area. A few could not find any installer that listed 33534 by name.

The bigger problem was the listing itself. Answers kept finding a general HVAC company whose page did not say whether it did the job asked. A listing might cover AC repair but say nothing about ductwork, mini-splits or ventilation. A review might mention one related job without proving the company did it. A Gibsonton page should name each job the company does.

Phone numbers were what assistants most often could not find here. Assistants said they did not find numbers they could verify, and would not guess. They sent customers to company websites instead. A Gibsonton HVAC page with one clear, working number matching the Google listing removes that step.

  • A contractor’s own website: 88% (21 answers)

  • A manufacturer or home-improvement guide: 25% (6 answers)
  • An official license lookup: 12% (3 answers)

Google AI Mode works differently. In 67% of its 6 answers, the links opened Google’s own listing for a business rather than a website. There, your Google Business Profile is the page the customer sees, so it needs the same facts as your site.

Going further: let assistants see real openings

For an urgent job, “open now” doesn’t answer the customer’s real question: can the right technician get to this address within the next few hours?

Merchant Context builds custom integrations with scheduling software so customers and AI assistants can read your current availability. Where your system records the job type, service area, duration and crew capacity, the integration can show those details with each opening, so an assistant can match it to the request instead of guessing.

We scope each connection to the software and data you actually have. A displayed opening is not a confirmed booking: the customer still confirms through your normal booking process, and the information is only useful while it is fresh.

How we got these numbers

The questions, counts and quotes on this page come from the 30 answers ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode gave between October 9 and October 14, 2026. Every question named Gibsonton or one of its ZIP codes. We collected them with software rather than the consumer apps, which can answer differently. We counted what each answer mentioned, what it said it couldn’t find and where it linked. Quotes never name a business.

The study figures come from an earlier set of assistant conversations in July and August 2026 across eight trades, coded for the reason each business was included or left out. Counts overlap and are never added together.
