Who AI assistants recommend for home services in Keystone, FL

We asked ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode for home services in Keystone, FL recommendations 30 times. Here is what they could find about contractors who serve Keystone, from the heating and cooling questions asked so far.

The short answer

This is a small sample, and every question in it was about heating and cooling. Assistants often treated Keystone’s ZIP code, 33556, as Odessa, and named contractors from Odessa, Lutz and Citrus Park. They rarely found one based in Keystone, and told customers to confirm the town was covered, check the license and get the job in writing.

What people actually asked

We asked 18 different questions here between October 9 and October 14, 2026. These are the six asked most, word for word, with how many of the 30 answers each produced:

  • “Air purifier installation near me — I'm in Keystone, FL 33556. Who do you recommend?”2 answers
  • “Commercial HVAC repair near me — I'm in 33556. Who do you recommend?”2 answers
  • “I need commercial HVAC repair tonight — I'm in Keystone, FL. Who can actually come out?”2 answers
  • “I'm looking to get duct installation done in 33556 sometime this month. Who should I get quotes from?”2 answers
  • “Looking for someone to do air purifier installation in Keystone, FL 33556 before the end of the month. Any recommendations?”2 answers
  • “Who should I call for commercial HVAC repair in Keystone, FL 33556?”2 answers

The other 12 questions asked for other jobs or worded the request differently. All 30 answers were about Keystone, in Hillsborough County (ZIP codes 33556, 33558 and 33626). By assistant: ChatGPT 12, Claude 12 and Google AI Mode 6.

The questions covered eight specific jobs. The most asked here, each with its own post:

The question underneath all of them

“Does anyone actually work in Keystone, or only in Odessa?” Every question recorded for Keystone so far was about HVAC, and assistants often treated the town’s ZIP code as Odessa.

What your Keystone page has to explain

So far, every question recorded for Keystone was about an HVAC job, so this town post rests on those answers alone. No plumbing, electrical or roofing questions were asked here yet. What the answers show about naming the town, its ZIP code and a phone number applies to any contractor. What they show about ducts and mini-splits is on the Keystone HVAC post.

The clearest pattern is the place name. Several answers described Keystone as a small community in northwest Hillsborough County. Many read 33556 as Odessa and searched there instead, and at least one began with the wrong town entirely before correcting itself. A contractor who serves Keystone can remove that doubt by naming Keystone, Odessa and 33556 together on one page.

Once they had a list, assistants checked two things on each contractor’s page: whether it named Keystone, and whether it did the exact job asked. When either was missing, they told the customer to call and ask. They also told customers to look up the license on the state site, since they could not verify licenses themselves.

What the assistants looked for before recommending anyone

We read all 30 answers to see what the assistants looked for before naming a company for home services in Keystone, FL, what they told the customer to ask, and what they said they couldn’t find.

What the assistants told customers to ask

Most common first:

Will the job be estimated in writing first?

Assistants told customers to get the price in writing before any work began. For a repair, that meant a written diagnostic or repair estimate. For an install, it meant an itemized quote.

53% of the answers (16 of 30) brought this up.

Ask whether they provide emergency response, confirm the technician is licensed for commercial equipment, and request a written diagnostic/repair estimate before authorizing work.

— ChatGPT, asked “Commercial HVAC repair near me — I'm in 33556. Who do you recommend?”, October 12, 2026

Does the page connect Keystone to 33556 and Odessa?

Many answers translated the Keystone ZIP code into Odessa and then searched for Odessa contractors. A page that names only Odessa or only Keystone may match one way of asking and miss the other.

50% of the answers (15 of 30) brought this up.

I couldn't find any installers based in Keystone itself.

— Claude, asked “Looking for someone to do air purifier installation in Keystone, FL 33556 before the end of the month. Any recommendations?”, October 10, 2026

Does the contractor say it does this job?

Assistants often found a contractor near Keystone whose page did not mention the job asked about. They told the customer to ask whether it does that work before booking.

50% of the answers (15 of 30) brought this up.

Ask each one whether they do ventilation work.

— Claude, asked “Who should I call for ventilation system installation in Keystone, FL 33556?”, October 14, 2026

Can the customer check the license?

Answers sent Keystone customers to Florida’s DBPR lookup and told them to ask for proof of insurance. Several said they could not verify any contractor’s license or reviews on their own.

43% of the answers (13 of 30) brought this up.

I couldn't verify review ratings or licenses, so treat these as places to start, not endorsements.

— Claude, asked “Ductless mini-split installation near me — I'm in Keystone, FL. Who do you recommend?”, October 13, 2026

Will someone local actually come out?

When a company looked statewide or had an out-of-area phone code, assistants told customers to ask whether it sends someone local. For urgent calls, they asked whether a technician could reach Keystone that night.

30% of the answers (9 of 30) brought this up.

It's a statewide operator, so ask whether it can get a technician to Keystone tonight.

— Claude, asked “I need commercial HVAC repair tonight — I'm in Keystone, FL. Who can actually come out?”, October 13, 2026

What the assistants couldn’t find

In 12 of the 30 answers, the assistant said it couldn’t find or confirm something it needed about a company. By assistant: Claude in 12 of its 12, ChatGPT in 0 of its 12 and Google AI Mode in 0 of its 6. As we asked it, Claude usually says what it couldn’t confirm; ChatGPT and Google AI Mode seldom do, so these counts mostly show what Claude couldn’t find. Most often:

  • A phone number or other way to reach the company: 8 answers
  • Whether the company serves the customer’s town or ZIP code: 4 answers
  • Reviews it could check: 3 answers

Compared with the larger towns: Claude said it couldn’t confirm something in 12 of its 12 answers about Keystone (100%), and couldn’t confirm that any company served Keystone in 4 (33%). In the eight largest towns we studied, those figures were 40% and 4%.

Assistants often could not find a contractor that named Keystone, and many found no phone number they trusted. For any trade that works here, a page naming Keystone, Odessa and 33556, with one working number, fills both gaps. Other trades have no Keystone answers yet.

Their listings didn't show phone numbers, so I haven't guessed any.

— Claude, asked “Air purifier installation near me — I'm in Keystone, FL 33556. Who do you recommend?”, October 9, 2026

Where the assistants sent people

Each answer linked to the pages the assistant relied on. Of the 24 ChatGPT and Claude answers about home services in Keystone, FL, this is how many linked at least once to each kind of site:

  • A contractor’s own website: 100% (24 answers)
  • A directory or review site such as Yelp, Angi or the BBB: 42% (10 answers)
  • A manufacturer or home-improvement guide: 12% (3 answers)
  • A Google search or Maps page: 8% (2 answers)
  • An official license lookup: 8% (2 answers)

A contractor’s own website was the page linked most often, so your site is usually what the customer is sent to read.

Google AI Mode works differently. In 50% of its 6 answers, the links opened Google’s own listing for a business rather than a website. There, your Google Business Profile is the page the customer sees, so it needs the same facts as your site.

Your Keystone page checklist

Work through this list on your Keystone page. Each item answers something the assistants looked for above.

  1. Use “Keystone” in the page title, the main heading and the first paragraph.
  2. Say how you put estimates in writing for Keystone jobs and what they list.
  3. Write Keystone, Odessa and 33556 together on your town page, and say which of them you are based in.
  4. List each job you do in Keystone by name, rather than a general list of services.
  5. Show your Florida license number with a link to the DBPR lookup, and name your insurance.
  6. Say where your crews are based and how soon they can usually reach a Keystone address.
  7. Say how soon you can usually start work in Keystone, and whether you take after-hours calls.
  8. Put one working phone number on the page, the same one your Google listing shows.
  9. Name Keystone and its ZIP codes, 33556, 33558 and 33626, alongside Odessa.

Going further: let assistants see real openings

For an urgent job, “open now” doesn’t answer the customer’s real question: can the right technician get to this address within the next few hours?

Merchant Context builds custom integrations with scheduling software so customers and AI assistants can read your current availability. Where your system records the job type, service area, duration and crew capacity, the integration can show those details with each opening, so an assistant can match it to the request instead of guessing.

We scope each connection to the software and data you actually have. A displayed opening is not a confirmed booking: the customer still confirms through your normal booking process, and the information is only useful while it is fresh.

Questions owners ask

Should my page say Keystone or Odessa?

Both, if you work there. Many answers read the ZIP code 33556 as Odessa, while customers asked about Keystone by name. A page that names Keystone, Odessa and 33556 together matches either way of asking.

I’m a plumber or electrician in Keystone. What should my town page say?

The Keystone questions so far were all about heating and cooling, so there is no plumbing or electrical evidence for the town yet. What the HVAC answers looked for carries over: the town and ZIP code named together, the jobs listed by name, a license link and one working number.

Why couldn’t assistants recommend a contractor based in Keystone?

In this small sample, assistants often found no contractor based in Keystone itself and turned to Odessa, Lutz and Citrus Park. Many also found no phone number they could confirm. They treated what they found as leads to check, not recommendations.

Which AI assistants did you test?

ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode. Between October 9 and October 14, 2026, they answered 30 questions about home services in Keystone, FL: ChatGPT 12, Claude 12, Google AI Mode 6.

Will these changes guarantee a recommendation?

No. Nobody can promise that. These changes supply what the assistants were looking for in our research. Whether they move recommendations for your business is something to measure after they go live.

How we got these numbers

The questions, counts and quotes on this page come from the 30 answers ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode gave between October 9 and October 14, 2026. Every question named Keystone or one of its ZIP codes. We collected them with software rather than the consumer apps, which can answer differently. We counted what each answer mentioned, what it said it couldn’t find and where it linked. Quotes never name a business.

The study figures come from an earlier set of assistant conversations in July and August 2026 across eight trades, coded for the reason each business was included or left out. Counts overlap and are never added together.
