Who AI assistants recommend for HVAC work in Keystone, FL

We asked ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode for HVAC work in Keystone, FL recommendations 30 times. Here is what they looked for on an HVAC company’s page before naming it for a Keystone home.

The short answer

We asked 18 different questions here between October 9 and October 14, 2026. These are the six asked most, word for word, with how many of the 30 answers each produced:

  • “Air purifier installation near me — I'm in Keystone, FL 33556. Who do you recommend?”2 answers
  • “Commercial HVAC repair near me — I'm in 33556. Who do you recommend?”2 answers
  • “I need commercial HVAC repair tonight — I'm in Keystone, FL. Who can actually come out?”2 answers
  • “I'm looking to get duct installation done in 33556 sometime this month. Who should I get quotes from?”2 answers
  • “Looking for someone to do air purifier installation in Keystone, FL 33556 before the end of the month. Any recommendations?”2 answers
  • “Who should I call for commercial HVAC repair in Keystone, FL 33556?”2 answers

The other 12 questions asked for other jobs or worded the request differently. All 30 answers were about Keystone, in Hillsborough County (ZIP codes 33556, 33558 and 33626). By assistant: ChatGPT 12, Claude 12 and Google AI Mode 6.

The questions covered eight specific jobs. The most asked here, each with its own post:

The question underneath all of them

“Which HVAC company near Keystone will come out for this job, and what will the quote cover?” Assistants rarely found an HVAC company based in Keystone, so they turned to Odessa and Lutz companies and checked whether each named Keystone.

What your Keystone HVAC page has to explain

The sample for Keystone is small, so treat it as a first look. Most questions gave the ZIP code 33556, and many answers read that ZIP as Odessa. The companies they named were based in Odessa, Lutz or Citrus Park. A few company pages listed Keystone by name, and assistants pointed that out. Others listed no service towns at all, and assistants told the customer to ask.

The questions were for specific installs and repairs: duct installation, ductless mini-splits, whole-home air purifiers and commercial HVAC repair. For duct work, answers wanted an itemized quote naming the sizing, sealing, insulation, removal of old ducts and the warranty. They also told customers to ask whether the company would size the system with a load calculation and test the ducts for leaks.

For commercial repair, assistants often found pages written for homeowners. They told customers to ask whether the company works on rooftop or packaged units, and whether it could reach Keystone the same night. One company’s phone had an out-of-area code, and the answer told the customer to ask whether it sends local technicians. A Keystone HVAC page should say where its technicians are based.

What the assistants couldn’t find

In 12 of the 30 answers, the assistant said it couldn’t find or confirm something it needed about a company. By assistant: Claude in 12 of its 12, ChatGPT in 0 of its 12 and Google AI Mode in 0 of its 6. As we asked it, Claude usually says what it couldn’t confirm; ChatGPT and Google AI Mode seldom do, so these counts mostly show what Claude couldn’t find. Most often:

  • A phone number or other way to reach the company: 8 answers
  • Whether the company serves the customer’s town or ZIP code: 4 answers
  • Reviews it could check: 3 answers

Compared with the larger towns: Claude said it couldn’t confirm something in 12 of its 12 answers about Keystone (100%), and couldn’t confirm that any company served Keystone in 4 (33%). In the eight largest towns we studied, those figures were 39% and 4% for HVAC.

For an HVAC company that serves Keystone, this is an opening. Assistants could rarely find a company based in Keystone, and often could not find a phone number or confirm that a nearby company came out. A page naming Keystone and 33556, with a working number, answers both.

I didn't find a clearly vetted duct installer for Keystone, so treat these as leads to check.

Where the assistants sent people

Each answer linked to the pages the assistant relied on. Of the 24 ChatGPT and Claude answers about HVAC work in Keystone, FL, this is how many linked at least once to each kind of site:

  • A contractor’s own website: 100% (24 answers)
  • A directory or review site such as Yelp, Angi or the BBB: 42% (10 answers)
  • A manufacturer or home-improvement guide: 12% (3 answers)
  • A Google search or Maps page: 8% (2 answers)
  • An official license lookup: 8% (2 answers)

A contractor’s own website was the page linked most often, so your site is usually what the customer is sent to read.

Google AI Mode works differently. In 50% of its 6 answers, the links opened Google’s own listing for a business rather than a website. There, your Google Business Profile is the page the customer sees, so it needs the same facts as your site.

  4. Say that you pull the permit for Keystone installs and whether the fees are in the price.
  5. Say how you size systems and whether you test ducts for leaks and airflow after a Keystone install.
  6. If you take commercial calls in Keystone, say so and name the equipment you work on.
  7. Say how soon you can usually reach a Keystone address for repairs and how far ahead installs book.
  8. Put one working, local phone number on the page that matches your Google listing.
  9. Name Keystone and Odessa together with 33556, and say where your technicians are based.

Going further: let assistants see real openings

For an urgent job, “open now” doesn’t answer the customer’s real question: can the right technician get to this address within the next few hours?

Merchant Context builds custom integrations with scheduling software so customers and AI assistants can read your current availability. Where your system records the job type, service area, duration and crew capacity, the integration can show those details with each opening, so an assistant can match it to the request instead of guessing.

We scope each connection to the software and data you actually have. A displayed opening is not a confirmed booking: the customer still confirms through your normal booking process, and the information is only useful while it is fresh.

Questions owners ask

My HVAC company lists Odessa. Should my page also say Keystone?

If you work there, yes. Answers often read the Keystone ZIP code 33556 as Odessa, and pointed out when a company named Keystone itself. Listing both names with the ZIP code covers a customer who uses either one.

What did assistants tell Keystone customers to ask before duct installation?

They told customers to get written, itemized quotes covering sizing, sealing, insulation, old duct removal and the permit. They also told them to ask whether the company uses a load calculation and tests the ducts for leaks afterward.

Why couldn’t assistants find an HVAC company in Keystone, FL?

In this small sample, they often found no company based in Keystone itself and turned to Odessa and Lutz instead. Many also found no phone number they could confirm. A page that names Keystone and gives a working number fills both gaps.

Which AI assistants did you test?

ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode. Between October 9 and October 14, 2026, they answered 30 questions about HVAC work in Keystone, FL: ChatGPT 12, Claude 12, Google AI Mode 6.

Will these changes guarantee a recommendation?

No. Nobody can promise that. These changes supply what the assistants were looking for in our research. Whether they move recommendations for your business is something to measure after they go live.

How we got these numbers

The questions, counts and quotes on this page come from the 30 answers ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode gave between October 9 and October 14, 2026. Every question named Keystone or one of its ZIP codes. We collected them with software rather than the consumer apps, which can answer differently. We counted what each answer mentioned, what it said it couldn’t find and where it linked. Quotes never name a business.

The study figures come from an earlier set of assistant conversations in July and August 2026 across eight trades, coded for the reason each business was included or left out. Counts overlap and are never added together.
