The question underneath all of them
“Which roofer near Pinellas Park can look at my roof soon, and what will it cost?” Answers named roofers located in Pinellas Park or 33781, repeated what their pages promised, then told customers to check the license, insurance and permit.
What your Pinellas Park roofing page has to explain
Questions here covered a wide spread of roofing jobs, from gutter cleaning and skylight repair to tile, slate and flat roofs. Most named the ZIP code 33781 or asked for a roofer near me. Answers often described a company as located right in Pinellas Park or nearby. When a roofer worked from farther away, assistants told customers to ask how close its crews were.
Assistants leaned on what roofers wrote about themselves. Free inspections, emergency service, insurance help and a license number were often repeated when a page stated them. When a page left something out, the answer said so, for example that a site did not mention slate or cedar shake. A Pinellas Park roofing page should name each roof type and job the company actually takes.
Storm and leak questions brought a second set of advice. Assistants told customers to ask for a temporary tarp if a full repair could not happen that day. They told them to get the price in writing first and not to sign over insurance benefits on the spot. Some suggested asking about a wind-mitigation report after the job, since it can affect the insurance premium.
What the assistants looked for before recommending anyone
We read all 1,215 answers to see what the assistants looked for before naming a company for roofing work in Pinellas Park, FL, what they told the customer to ask, and what they said they couldn’t find.
What the assistants told customers to ask
Most common first:
Is the roofer located in Pinellas Park or close to it?
Answers often pointed out which roofers were located right in Pinellas Park or nearby, sometimes with the street. For a roofer based farther south or across the county, assistants told customers to ask whether it actually served Pinellas Park.
41% of the answers (495 of 1,215) brought this up.
They may serve Pinellas from farther south, so ask how close their crews are.
Can the customer look up the roofer’s license and insurance?
Many answers told customers to get the Florida roofing license number and look it up on the state DBPR site. They also told them to ask for proof of liability and workers’ comp insurance before anyone went on the roof.
37% of the answers (444 of 1,215) brought this up.
Ask for their Florida roofing license number, proof of insurance, and whether they can provide a written repair estimate before work starts.
Is the inspection free, and what does the report show?
Answers often repeated when a roofer offered a free inspection. They also told customers to ask whether the visit came with photos and a written condition report, not only a sales estimate.
23% of the answers (278 of 1,215) brought this up.
Ask whether the inspection is free, whether they provide photos, and whether they’ll give a written condition report rather than only a sales estimate.
Will the roofer provide papers the insurer accepts?
Storm, inspection and replacement answers often mentioned insurance. Assistants told customers to ask about a wind-mitigation report, to check that a report would satisfy their own carrier, and to avoid signing over insurance benefits to a roofer.
22% of the answers (269 of 1,215) brought this up.
Ask about wind-mitigation certification, since that can lower your homeowners insurance premium.
Can someone tarp the roof today if the repair has to wait?

Ask for a temporary dry-in/tarp if they can’t complete the tile repair today.
Is the Pinellas Park permit in the quote?
For replacements and larger repairs, answers listed permit handling among the things to confirm before signing. One warned that some low quotes leave out the Pinellas Park permit and add it later.
7% of the answers (89 of 1,215) brought this up.
Ask if the quote includes permit fees — some "cheap" quotes exclude the required Pinellas Park permit and add it later.
What the assistants couldn’t find
In 173 of the 1,215 answers, the assistant said it couldn’t find or confirm something it needed about a company. By assistant: Claude in 160 of its 417, ChatGPT in 9 of its 505 and Google AI Mode in 4 of its 293. As we asked it, Claude usually says what it couldn’t confirm; ChatGPT and Google AI Mode seldom do, so these counts mostly show what Claude couldn’t find. Most often:
- A phone number or other way to reach the company: 98 answers
- Reviews it could check: 28 answers
- When the company could do the work: 26 answers
- A license or insurance it could check: 19 answers
- A price or how the job is priced: 11 answers
- Whether the company serves the customer’s town or ZIP code: 8 answers
- A warranty: 6 answers
Compared with the larger towns: Claude said it couldn’t confirm something in 160 of its 417 answers about Pinellas Park (38%), and couldn’t confirm that any company served Pinellas Park in 8 (2%). In the eight largest towns we studied, those figures were 40% and 3% for roofing.
In Pinellas Park, a phone number was what assistants most often could not find, and many sent customers to a website instead. They also sometimes could not check reviews or confirm who had a crew free. Its gaps look much like those of the largest towns in this research. A page with one working number, links to current reviews and a typical arrival time answers all three.
I don't have current phone numbers/addresses confirmed for each — check the listings below for direct contact info and current reviews before calling.
Where the assistants sent people
Each answer linked to the pages the assistant relied on. Of the 922 ChatGPT and Claude answers about roofing work in Pinellas Park, FL, this is how many linked at least once to each kind of site:
- A contractor’s own website: 95% (874 answers)
- A directory or review site such as Yelp, Angi or the BBB: 59% (548 answers)
- An official license lookup: 16% (151 answers)
- A manufacturer or home-improvement guide: 14% (131 answers)
- A Google search or Maps page: under 1% (2 answers)
A contractor’s own website was the page linked most often, so your site is usually what the customer is sent to read.
Google AI Mode works differently. In 78% of its 293 answers, the links opened Google’s own listing for a business rather than a website. There, your Google Business Profile is the page the customer sees, so it needs the same facts as your site.

Going further: let assistants see real openings
For an urgent job, “open now” doesn’t answer the customer’s real question: can the right technician get to this address within the next few hours?
Merchant Context builds custom integrations with scheduling software so customers and AI assistants can read your current availability. Where your system records the job type, service area, duration and crew capacity, the integration can show those details with each opening, so an assistant can match it to the request instead of guessing.
We scope each connection to the software and data you actually have. A displayed opening is not a confirmed booking: the customer still confirms through your normal booking process, and the information is only useful while it is fresh.

How we got these numbers
The questions, counts and quotes on this page come from the 1,215 answers ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode gave between September 2 and October 14, 2026. Every question named Pinellas Park or one of its ZIP codes. We collected them with software rather than the consumer apps, which can answer differently. We counted what each answer mentioned, what it said it couldn’t find and where it linked. Quotes never name a business.
The study figures come from an earlier set of assistant conversations in July and August 2026 across eight trades, coded for the reason each business was included or left out. Counts overlap and are never added together.
