Who AI assistants recommend for home services in Oldsmar, FL
We asked ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode for home services in Oldsmar, FL recommendations 102 times. Here is what they looked for on a contractor's Oldsmar page, in HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
The short answer

The question underneath all of them
“Which contractor really covers Oldsmar, does my job, and puts the price in writing?” Across HVAC, plumbing and electrical, answers leaned on contractors' Oldsmar pages and checked whether each page listed the job asked about.
What your Oldsmar page has to explain
The questions recorded for Oldsmar covered HVAC, plumbing and electrical work, but not roofing. Answers drew on companies from both Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. Many of them were based in Tampa, Clearwater, Dunedin or Safety Harbor. One answer found no installer based in Oldsmar and pointed to companies serving the surrounding area.
Assistants often quoted what a contractor's own Oldsmar page said. That made the page's content matter. An Oldsmar HVAC page that only described general service did not show the company installed purifiers. A plumber's Oldsmar page listing drains and water heaters did not show it did repiping. Each time, the answer told the customer to ask. An Oldsmar page should name the jobs done there.
Claude could not confirm anyone served Oldsmar more often here than in the largest research towns, though the sample is far smaller. Phone numbers were missing most often, in all three trades. Some answers also pointed to the City of Oldsmar, for permits and for its water and sewer line when a backup might be in the public main.

By assistant: Claude in 40 of its 42, ChatGPT in 0 of its 42 and Google AI Mode in 0 of its 18. - A phone number or other way to reach the company: 30 answers
- Reviews it could check: 9 answers
- Whether the company serves the customer’s town or ZIP code: 8 answers

Where the assistants sent people
Each answer linked to the pages the assistant relied on. Of the 84 ChatGPT and Claude answers about home services in Oldsmar, FL, this is how many linked at least once to each kind of site:
- A contractor’s own website: 95% (80 answers)
- A directory or review site such as Yelp, Angi or the BBB: 37% (31 answers)
- A manufacturer or home-improvement guide: 13% (11 answers)
- An official license lookup: 10% (8 answers)
A contractor’s own website was the page linked most often, so your site is usually what the customer is sent to read.
Google AI Mode works differently. In 78% of its 18 answers, the links opened Google’s own listing for a business rather than a website. There, your Google Business Profile is the page the customer sees, so it needs the same facts as your site.

Going further: let assistants see real openings
For an urgent job, “open now” doesn’t answer the customer’s real question: can the right technician get to this address within the next few hours?
Merchant Context builds custom integrations with scheduling software so customers and AI assistants can read your current availability. Where your system records the job type, service area, duration and crew capacity, the integration can show those details with each opening, so an assistant can match it to the request instead of guessing.
We scope each connection to the software and data you actually have. A displayed opening is not a confirmed booking: the customer still confirms through your normal booking process, and the information is only useful while it is fresh.

Questions owners ask
What should a contractor's Oldsmar page say?
Answers about Oldsmar looked for a page that names the town, lists the job asked about and explains the written quote. Name 34677, list each job you do there, say who pulls the permit and give a working phone number that matches your Google listing.
My company is in Tampa but works in Oldsmar. Should it have an Oldsmar page?
It can help. Many companies the answers named were based in Tampa, Clearwater or Dunedin, and assistants often cited their Oldsmar pages. A page that names Oldsmar and lists the jobs you do there answers the coverage question up front.
Why did assistants ask who runs the company?
One answer found an Oldsmar service page that did not say which company was behind it, and told the customer to ask before booking. Your Oldsmar page should show your company name, license number and contact details on the page itself.
Which AI assistants did you test?
ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode. Between October 9 and October 14, 2026, they answered 102 questions about home services in Oldsmar, FL: ChatGPT 42, Claude 42, Google AI Mode 18.
Will these changes guarantee a recommendation?
No. Nobody can promise that. These changes supply what the assistants were looking for in our research. Whether they move recommendations for your business is something to measure after they go live.
How we got these numbers
The questions, counts and quotes on this page come from the 102 answers ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode gave between October 9 and October 14, 2026. Every question named Oldsmar or one of its ZIP codes. We collected them with software rather than the consumer apps, which can answer differently. We counted what each answer mentioned, what it said it couldn’t find and where it linked. Quotes never name a business.
The study figures come from an earlier set of assistant conversations in July and August 2026 across eight trades, coded for the reason each business was included or left out. Counts overlap and are never added together.
